Morrow Motivation | July 25, 2017

by | Jul 25, 2017

I filmed a Morrow Monday video yesterday and will somehow get it to you. Having internet issues I guess.

I read this morning:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)

This has been a topic before and I always seem to find new perspective. Jesus was telling the disciples stories or parables. He was not speaking directly to them about who He was but was answering in stories and examples. He was “showing” them what it was like to know God and what Heaven was and how we are to be toward one another and what this whole thing down here on earth is all about. But here in this verse He speaks clearly to explain why He was relating to them this way. It was to give them a sense of peace, so they can relate. And now they can understand that this world is not how it will be forever. Forever is not here. This is a fleeting piece of our existence. And we can walk here in peace knowing that we have a place to go when we are done. And that place has been secured by Christ as He overcame this world and the death it holds on our souls and bodies. We are no longer its slaves. It does not hold power over us anymore. Jesus overcame this world when He rose from the grave.
Trusting in God is the key to peace in this life. If you search anywhere else, you will find paper thin versions of it, but not the real and actual peace He speaks of in the Bible. I can tell you from experience that what I’m learning about the Bible and about Jesus is physically and spiritually true. He is who He claimed to be and I believe (most days) that He did what the Bible claimed He did. I say “most days” because I don’t want you to think that I’m blindly following this path. I question it every day. And every day it seems that as I give myself to Him and surrender unto Him, He shows me His truth and love and peace. I walk with Christ and He guides my steps. I question who He is and He always shows me how I can find my way back to Him. We are children of God. Just like our own children or even just as we were with our own parents, children wander and run from their authority. They question their parents words. It’s our way because we have that free will to make choices. That’s how you know when love is real. It’s YOUR choice and not a forced relationship. I choose love and I choose Jesus. Cool part is that He chose me first.
I pray today for peace in your hearts and a love that fills you up to the point that you start “springing leaks.”
God loves you and that is enough!
