“Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands”
-Psalm 149:6

When we give God our best, we position ourselves to receive his best and to be used for his glory. So we praise and we fight. We work and God works.
-Denison

Today, well, right now at this moment, there is a silence in our home. No kids are here in our midst trampling thru the house, crying, screaming, laughing, running, breaking things, enjoying things, sharing, fighting, singing, dancing, falling, sliding, clapping, oh and did I mention laughing? There are only the footsteps of our dog and the hum of the a/c and the quiet and the peace. I haven’t woken up early lately and I haven’t written much. There’s been a lot going on and I honestly have been distracted from giving my time to Him first. Let me say that this is never a good idea and I do not like the results. However, here we are today and here I am with a new beginning, a new opportunity to live for Him. Never does a day go by that there isn’t an opportunity to see, feel, and know God and His mighty love for us. Not one day. It may seem like we are simply alone in this life, but that idea always pushes me to ask the questions that lead me back to places where He reveals Himself and back to people who encourage me, to a mindset I’ve always had where I can experience Him in every little piece of His creation, and to the realization that I really and truly am blessed beyond by wildest imagination just to know the name above all names. And why wouldn’t I want to share this name and to shout it to the world every chance I get? Well, the answer to that is what draws me away from Him. And personally, I freaking hate that answer. I freaking hate that enemy! This life is both a blessing and a battle. Blessings are everywhere and the battle rages on in the midst of it all. Do NOT let your guard down. Do NOT grow complacent. And NEVER stop asking questions and seeking answers.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
-Matthew 7:7-8

The reason I put the first scripture up at the top of this post is because it caught me and got me thinking. “Let the high praises of God be in their throats” says to me multiple things, not the least of which is that when I sing for Him, no matter what I’m singing, I praise Him with my throat, I am being blessed and I am waging war. My blessing is that I get to praise Him with what I love to do. He gives me the desires of my heart. (Psalm 37:4) My war is waged in that I fight the enemy by bringing His presence into the room each time I dedicate myself in singing to Him.

“Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.”
-Proverbs 16:3

When I get up early and give to God the day that He made for me, when I commit myself to Him in each thing that I do in humble submission to what I believe is true about Him, He blesses me in ways I cannot see or know. But I can see and know plenty right here and now. Believe that what you feel deep down inside is true. Fight to live for something greater than yourself. Hope in love. And give all of yourself in the knowledge that this isn’t all about you, but it IS all FOR you. And me. And him. And her……in Him.

Go get you some of this day!
