“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My Rock and my Redeemer is He. He is my salvation and my savior. He is my strength and my hope. He is my example.
Jesus, my God, is the truth and the life and the way for me. Today and every day heretofore.
I spent a few days with family recently and upon leaving, my nieces imparted a story unto me. It goes like this:

A man comes home one day to find the police in his driveway and the pain of realizing that his son was kidnapped. In the next few hours a ransom note was found and it had a price on it which was exactly all that the man could find, sell, and dissolve from his assets and wealth. The ransom amount was enough to bankrupt him. But this was his son and so he sold everything he had and dissolved all his assets and gathered all the money and waited for instruction. (I’m taking the liberty of embellishing or paraphrasing a bit as I am a man and I sometimes don’t catch everything that was said to me)
Instructions came and he was to go to a parking lot and leave the money and wait for his son at a specific time. He did just that and then walked back to his car and waited. In a few minutes he saw his son walking toward him from across the parking lot. His son got closer and closer and then, he picked up the money and turned around and walked away.

This is what we do to our Father every day when we disobey and forsake Him for all he has done for us. Every day we walk toward Him as He has sacrificed all for us, and we pick up His gifts and we take His sacrifice for granted and we turn from Him and go our own way again. Away from Him. In the opposite direction of His love and protection, teaching and guidance, peace and provision. We have been given all we need to be set free and yet, we take His ransom and we walk away from Him. And still, He continues to run out to us and to love us and to forgive us and to pursue us. He never stops holding out His hand, stretching it out so that we KNOW He loves us, so that we KNOW He is there and will always be there for us whenever it is that we decide that we are ready to accept His love and forgiveness. And I have to say that He must be God. There is no way anyone else would be able to forgive a mess like me or you and to continuously withstand the betrayal and bereavement that we enact and cause on Him daily.

Jesus lived a life that anyone can admire. And I believe that He indeed was the Son of The One True God. I believe that He rose from the grave and is the bringer of eternal life and salvation for us all. I believe that the Holy Spirit resides in me and that I have a choice in every moment to allow Him to be my words and to be where I meditate before I speak or act. I believe. And from my being IN Christ, I am now from the world but not OF it. I am forgiven and I am saved. Peace and love are my strength and guide.

Go with God and find your place in this world. Go FROM God and find your way back as soon as you can. He loves you and He loves me. And that is amazing!
