Morrow Motivation 12/26/16

by | Dec 26, 2016

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”
-Hebrews 11:8-10

“By faith Abraham…obeyed and went…”

That’s it. That’s all that is asked of us to begin this journey. But also, because of faith, we act. We act in the anticipation of what we now perceive to be the truth. We believe and we use our faith to guide our actions toward the goal of God’s desire for our lives. The desire to do good, to prosper and not to harm us. And knowing that there will be trouble, we fight on thru the temptations in our path using our faith to lead us in every moment towards God’s direction. We cannot get lost along the way if He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He gifted us with faith to show us how to get home. I believe that is the action of a loving Father. Setting us out on a journey filled with trouble and testings, chalked with temptations and other offers, yet He is always available for guidance and counsel, and has given us the gift of a tool that will show us the right path to take on this adventure. He gave us a key, if you will, to the map.

Thank you Father for your Son; for the story of His birth, life, death, and resurrection, which is our salvation. On days when I feel I am alone or feeling distant, I pray for a strengthened faith. I pray Father, that you become ever more apparent to me as I strive to live for You. I pray for eyes to see You in everything around me. Make me a servant’s heart and help me be humble enough to use it. Amen.
Merry Christmas and peace to you all.
