Devotion this morning spoke of something called faith without saying the word. It was interesting. Trust. Faith. Hope. Love. These things need one another. If I trust you to do what you say you will, I am putting faith in you. My gift of faith comes from God and I am giving it, putting it, into you. I hope that you will be true and when you are, I am filled with love. We both are. The above passage is talking about trusting that God will do His part in your walk and will fulfill His promises according to your life and His plan for you. We are to trust. It’s the hardest part about this walk, about this faith in Christ. To trust. And as I was talking with someone yesterday about just that, it is a reality in my new life that when I give myself completely to Him, in each moment; when I release my will or my wants to His will and His desire for my life, when this happens, I am putting faith in Him and I am seeing this action produce fruit. I am putting trust in Him and He is faithful. He is true. He shows up and blows my mind. He loves on me thru people I never would have imagined. He softens my heart and humbles me to see something in those I freaking hate, to see something that He sees. Something beautiful. Something wonderful. He shapes my heart, my mind, and my soul in order for me to fully experience the joy and peace that He promised to us. We have to go to sleep trusting that the seeds will take root. We have to trust that His word and truth will take root. It does take root. It does change lives. It does allow us to forgive and to let go, to not be afraid of dying or of those we love dying. It gives us an ability to shepherd hearts who are familiarly broken, in order to experience what He promised us. Do you hear me repeating myself? He is at work IN US! And THROUGH US! Quiet your mind and be still. Allow Him to work on you today. I pray with all sincerity that you may know this Love of which I speak. I pray peace and humility in your heart and mind.
